Magnet segments for MAX-IV
The world’s first fourth-generation light source
Scanditronix is proud to have been the main supplier, delivering 80 out of the 140 magnet segments, for the MAX-IV 3 GeV storage ring in Lund, Sweden. MAX IV is the first fourth-generation synchrotron in the world, a facility which will allow researchers to profit from the increased brightness and conduct experiments that have not earlier been possible.
1 000 quadrupole magnets
For proton therapy
Scanditronix Magnet has now hit the 1 000 mark for quadrupole magnets used in IBA’s proton therapy systems. Since the first magnets of this type were produced in 2007, over 1 000 magnets has now been manufactured and delivered. This means 2 000 yoke halves have been stacked and glued and 4 000 coils have been wound, vacuum impregnated and tested. Before delivery to IBA the magnets are field measured with a rotating coil and assembled onto supports in singlet, doublet and triplet configurations.
